S.A.M. Sinner Turntable

Small Audio Manufacture has started its production in audiophilia all the way back from the early 80’s. Formerly known as Pro L, it’s works such as amplifiers, preamplifiers, loudspeakers and turntables, got recognition from various top magazines such as Stereoplay, HiFi Choice (among others) and quickly became one of the most well-known manufacturers in Eastern and some part of the Western Europe. Our products found home in various countries such as Slovenia, Serbia, Germany, Austria and off course our homeland Croatia.
At the end of the millennium company changed its name to S.A.M., which stands for Small Audio Manufacture. As the name says it, S.A.M. is a small company that in general doesn’t deal with large quantities and it’s mostly oriented toward private clients and audiophiles such as themselves. Since the emergence of Internet and recent vinyl resurrection, S.A.M.’s production is currently at the all-time high (so sometimes, our clients have to wait for months to get their turntable), as our market expanded to all corners of the World. Currently, S.A.M. turntables can be found in homes from United States, Canada, Brazil, UK, Russia, European countries, Nordic countries, to Japan, Malaysia, Singapour, Vietnam, Taiwan, Australia and many other homes worldwide.
With that being said, Small Audio Manufacture does not have any salesman’s, middlemen’s nor distributors. Our clients are dealing and ordering their products straight from the factory and it’s makers. Outside of couple of minor details, S.A.M. uses materials only from local factories and is entirely a Croatian, homemade product.

Audiomods Series 6 Micrometer Tonearm

The Series Six arms feature the latest thinking in tonearm design with a multi-layer carbon-fibre/aluminium arm tube assembly with detachable cartridge plates, built-in azimuth adjustment and a multi-element counterweight with constrained layer damping.
Carbon fibre is very much stiffer than an aluminium or steel tube (a factor of 9 to 6.5) and only about 60% of the density. This means that we can make a far stiffer arm tube for the same weight. Stiffness isn’t everything in an arm tube and here the major advantage of the new material really makes a difference. As a composite, a carbon fibre tube has a far superior internal damping than a metal one, a factor of 150:40 for aluminium.
The carbon fibre arm tube is a multi-layer design. The first 50mm is less than 0.5mm thick, effectively isolating the headshell and cartridge to minimise any acoustic feedback. The tube thickness progressively increases internally with the layers of fibres aligned along and cross-woven for the best combination of stiffness and feedback suppression making it possible to achieve far greater control than with a metal tube.
The audible difference is an exceptionally neutral arm with a major improvement in definition, imaging, fine detail and exceptional neutrality.
The internal changes made for the 12" version have been incorporated into the shorter arms, they include:
A redesigned bearing carrier, bearings and shaft assembly in the base.
Teflon-insulated cryo-treated silver Litz wiring.
A new carbon-fibre over brass cored counterweight.
A revised arm lift mechanism.
The arms come with a new setup kit that includes an acrylic cartridge alignment protractor, an azimuth mirror and cartridge screws.
The only other tool needed is a cartridge scale for setting VTF.

Less is more! By reducing the mass of metal around the cartridge we eliminate a source of vibration and also make setup much easier. The headshell uses a removable plate to locate the cartridge. These are available in different weights to vary the effective mass for matching to a wide range of cartridges. The new headshell provides a more positive fixing than the familiar slots and makes setup easier. The cartridge is fitted to the plate first, then a single screw fitting for setup and adjustment.
Though the arm arrives set true to the record surface tiny variations in stylus and cantilever mean that some adjustment might be necessary for a perfect setup. Releasing the azimuth lock and reference pin allows the arm tube to rotate to set a custom azimuth. Completely redesigned for easier setup and adjustment. The threaded adjustment weights come in different sizes to accommodate a very wide range of cartridges.

Benz Micro RUBY ZH

Founded by original designer Ernst Benz in the 1980s, Benz Micro earned recognition throughout the world as one the top cartridge manufacturing companies. In 1994 Albert Lukaschek took over and after 20 years, Benz Micro announced their focus on the upper end Swiss hand-made phono cartridges.
Benz Micro’s current production team represents the ” best of the best ” for its state-of-the-art phono cartridge production.
Benz Micro’s RUBY S class cartridges feature a Zebra wood body, providing a balance of bass weight and pitch definition, resulting in a arm and natural soundstage. The RUBY ZL & ZH provide the low or high output levels.
The Ruby Zebra cartridges weigh only 10.6 grams, making them ideal for a wide range of tonearms, including today’s state-of-the-arm, and older models lacking the energy control, bearing designs, or counter-weight range. Benz Micro cartridge owners have the added advantage of their trade-up programs.
The Benz Micro RUBY ZH (high output) cartridge featured a gorgeous Zebra wood body, and the Micro Ridge stylus providing enhanced trackability, resolution and groove integrity. The ZH at .7mV, is ideal for tube phono stages in the 50-60dB gain range.

Carriers

We despatch the bulk of our UK mainland items on a 24 hour service.  Non-Mainland locations – Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles, the Scottish highlands and Islands, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland may take a day or so longer. Smaller items are delivered using Royal Mail 24 or special delivery. Larger items are delivered using a courier service such as UPS and occasionally by a Pallet service.
