About Marantz

Marantz was founded in New York in 1953 by Saul Marantz, whose early equipment is still regarded as some of the finest ever made. The brand became Japanese-owned and developed its current range of integrated amplifiers, CD players, network players and AV receivers. The PM and CD series cover most budgets and are widely available on the used market. The Model series and Ruby range step up to more serious performance. Marantz is now part of Sound United alongside Denon, and the two brands share some engineering while maintaining their own characters.

Why buy used marantz?

Marantz is one of the safest choices in the used market. The brand has a long track record, the products are well made and reliable, and the range is wide enough that there is something at almost any budget. A used PM6007 or CD6007 is a very easy purchase, and stepping up to an older PM-KI Ruby or Model 30 offers genuine performance at a fraction of the new price. Pre-owned Marantz is low risk and high reward.
