Pre-Owned Quad Hi-Fi Equipment

(9 products)

Quad is one of the oldest and most respected names in British hi-fi, founded by Peter Walker in London in 1936. The brand built its reputation on electrostatic loudspeakers and amplifiers of genuine originality. The Quad ESL is still regarded by many experienced listeners as one of the finest speakers ever made. The current Artera series covers amplifiers and DACs, while the ESL range continues in production today. Pre-owned Quad spans a wide range of generations and budgets, from the legendary 303 and 405 amplifiers of the 1970s through to more recent solid-state and valve designs. The older equipment in particular offers extraordinary value for listeners who appreciate what Quad set out to achieve.

About Quad

Quad was founded by Peter Walker in London in 1936 and spent decades developing loudspeakers and amplifiers that prioritised accuracy and low distortion above everything else. The Quad ESL, launched in 1957, was the first commercially successful full-range electrostatic loudspeaker and remains in production in evolved form today. The Quad 303 and 405 power amplifiers are considered British hi-fi classics. The brand is now part of the IAG Group and based in Huntingdon, continuing to produce ESL speakers and the Artera electronics range.

Why Buy Used Quad?

Pre-owned Quad covers a wide range of price points and generations. The classic 303 and 405 amplifiers are available at genuinely accessible prices and still capable of serious performance. More recent Artera equipment is well made and musically capable. The Quad ESL loudspeakers, in any generation, represent a listening experience that is very difficult to replicate with conventional speakers at any price.
