Naim XPS-2 Power Supply (2005)

Here we have an XPS2 Power Supply from British experts Naim Audio. Naim have always believed in the importance of power supplies and have a full range designed to improve the sound quality from their equipment. The XPS we have dates from 2005 and is in good condition with a few slight blemishes mainly on the top of the unit - please see photographs. It was found to be faulty so we (Hi-Fi Sound as full Naim dealers) have serviced the unit - replacing tants and resrvoir capacitors - and also tested to make sure it is full working order. It also comes supplied in original packaging with Burndy cable, mains cable, manual and of course is covered by our usual three month warranty.

The importance of power supplies has been close to the heart of Naim philosophy for over twenty years. Naim research proved that divorcing the main power supply from a CD player is wholly beneficial, whereas the more common arrangement of housing the converter circuitry in a separate box causes many problems.
The Naim XPS2 power supply is a very sophisticated power supply with six separately regulated, very low noise outputs, featuring a toroidal transformer and six power regulators. These supplies are branched and re-regulated, some twice in the CD player.
With Naim XPS2 power supply the addition of anti-vibration, resonance-controlling feet compliment the elegant new cast and extruded anti-magnetic chassis protect the sensitive internal components from resonance and microphonic vibration.
The Naim XPS2 power supply is required and comes as standard with the CDS3 but can also be added to the CDX2 CD player, providing a substantial improvement in sound quality and a possible upgrade path from one player to another. It also makes a worthwhile addition to the HDX hard disk player, where it delivers immediately appreciable performance benefits.
Timing, dynamic range and clarity all significantly improve by adding a Naim XPS2 power supply to a CDX2. Complex passages become more understandable, bringing far more involvement and enjoyment from the music.

Carriers

We despatch the bulk of our UK mainland items on a 24 hour service.  Non-Mainland locations – Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles, the Scottish highlands and Islands, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland may take a day or so longer. Smaller items are delivered using Royal Mail 24 or special delivery. Larger items are delivered using a courier service such as UPS and occasionally by a Pallet service.
