Naim NAPSC Power Supply (2006)

Naim were an early advocate for separating delicate pre-amplifier circuitry and the potentially “noisy” power supplies, a practice that has become more popular nowadays with other manufacturers. Here we have a nice example of the NAPSC power supply that was originally launched in 1992. Ours is somewhat younger – 2006, according to its Naim serial number and in very good condition. As always, this unit has our three month warranty plus it also comes supplied in its original packaging with a mains cable.

The compact NAPSC can be used as an upgrade for the NAC 202 or to power the HeadLine headphone amplifier. It’s a small but important link in the chain in extracting the highest levels of musical performance from these hi-fi components.
Controlling the power supply element of the system has been a mainstay of Naim Audio engineering since the early days. Just as paying close attention to every detail in design – no matter how small or seemingly insignificant it may seem – is one of the ways in which we ensure high quality musical performance.
The NAPSC power supply is an example of this philosophy in action. It comes as standard with the NAC 282 preamplifier, supplying smooth low-noise power for the digital circuitry, leaving the preamp to concentrate on doing its main job of managing the signal. When paired with the NAC 202 it does the same job by upgrading the existing internal power supply section to remove the electrically noisy work from the box entirely. In both applications this attention to detail reaps rewards in improved musical clarity and reduced noise.

Carriers

We despatch the bulk of our UK mainland items on a 24 hour service.  Non-Mainland locations – Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles, the Scottish highlands and Islands, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland may take a day or so longer. Smaller items are delivered using Royal Mail 24 or special delivery. Larger items are delivered using a courier service such as UPS and occasionally by a Pallet service.
