Naim CD5 XS CD Player (2011)

As our premium entry-level player, the CD5 XS doesn’t just sound better than our CD5si: it also gives you more scope for growth. You can make its sound even more expressive by adding our FlatCap XS power supply component. Alternatively, you can use its transformer-coupled digital output to upgrade it with our external DAC. Add an ND5 XS network player and Naim Audio amplification and you’ll have an accessible high-end separates system capable of delivering a seriously convincing sound no matter how you choose to listen.
The CD5 XS shares some of its core components with more advanced Naim Audio CD players. Its low-resonance radial arc disc tray and transport suspension is a unique Naim Audio feature. Designed to provide a rigid and stable platform for the CD, it sits on an independent suspension system to isolate it from mechanical energy and maintain sound quality. Creating our own loader also brought other advantages: it meant we could control important factors such as the reflectivity and composition of the drawer surface which also has a significant effect on sound.
Its extruded and anodised aluminium casework is classic Naim Audio. As with all Naim Audio products, it doesn’t just contribute to the premium aesthetic, it’s an integral part of the overall design. It provides the perfect platform for the internal electronics to perform at their very best by negating external interference and resonances. The CD5 XS is the perfect stage to let your CD collection shine.

Standard shipping to the UK Mainland (excludes Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands) is free, except where specifically indicated. Carriers

We despatch the bulk of our UK mainland items on a 24 hour service.  Non-Mainland locations – Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles, the Scottish highlands and Islands, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland may take a day or so longer. Smaller items are delivered using Royal Mail 24 or special delivery. Larger items are delivered using a courier service such as UPS and occasionally by a Pallet service.
