Linn LP12 Turntable - Black / Lingo 2 Power Supply

The classic Linn Sondek LP12 turntable is one of the oldest and most important audio components there is, and the fact that it still in production today, albeit with a few modifications along the way, says something about that original design. Our example has a Black Plinth and is fitted with a Cirkus bearing plus it also comes with a Lingo 2 Power Supply. Cosmetically both items are in good condition and come in original factory packaging. In addition a mains cable and our normal three month warranty are also included.

Linn Products have always stated that the turntable is the most important part of a high fidelity system. If you don’t get a good signal off the record then it doesn’t matter how good the rest of your system is, the sound will be bad. When upgrading your system there is a strict hierarchy to observe. Linn Cirkus Bearing….
The Cirkus upgrade to the LP12 focuses on bearing performance and the connection of the bearing housing to the sub-chassis. The improved bearing and stronger sub-chassis arrangement provides the turntable with greater stability and ensures the bearing sits perfectly true to the chassis of the turntable. This in turn minimises the risk of turntable platter movement with respect to the sub-chassis and arm. Even the slightest movement will introduce audible degradation to the reproduced signal. Together the changes to the bearing and the sub-chassis make an enormous difference to the overall performance of the turntable.
Linn Lingo 2….
Lingo 2 is an external power supply designed exclusively for the Sondek LP12 turntable. It offers unsurpassed speed accuracy for both 33.3 and 45 rpm, plus precise filtering of mains voltage to ensure harmonic distortion is kept to a minimum.
At the heart of the Lingo 2 are two very low-noise crystal oscillators – one for each turntable speed. These coupled with the mains filtering provide the LP12’s 24-pole synchronous motor with an exceptionally clean sinusoidal waveform.
Load-sensing ‘stall detection’ circuitry is used to feed the motor with higher voltage for increased start-up torque and reduced voltage once the platter reaches the selected speed.
Lingo 2 offers an easy upgrade for existing LP12 owners using Valhalla or Basik power supplies. It is available in black and silver finishes from qualified Linn outlets worldwide.

Carriers

We despatch the bulk of our UK mainland items on a 24 hour service.  Non-Mainland locations – Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles, the Scottish highlands and Islands, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland may take a day or so longer. Smaller items are delivered using Royal Mail 24 or special delivery. Larger items are delivered using a courier service such as UPS and occasionally by a Pallet service.
