Linn Isobarik Aktiv Loudspeakers & Stands - Afromosia

Here we have a pair of the classic Isobarik loudspeakers from Scottish company Linn, that come complete with stands. They are the PMS (Professional Monitor Speaker) or active versions and come in full working condition. Cosmetically they do require some TLC and they come without grilles but there are companies out there who specialise in restoring the Isobarik to as new condition and performance. They will be professionally packaged and come with the crossovers and cables as listed, plus as always we include our three month warranty.

The Isobarik loudspeaker was originally available in two types: DMS (domestic monitor speaker) and PMS (Professional Monitor Speaker). The main difference between the two was the crossover: DMS were fitted with an internal passive crossover, whereas PMS had no crossover at all, and instead used an external Active crossover.
DMS were discontinued in 1988 due to the introduction of an external passive crossover. This improved passive performance and allowed very easy upgrade to Active.
Each speaker has two of each drive unit fitted – i.e. two bass, two mid and two treble. The second bass unit is hidden inside the cabinet, behind the visible bass unit and this forms the basis for our patented Isobarik equal-pressure bass system. This means that the front speaker behaves as if it is in a much bigger enclosure.
