Krell KAV-300i Integrated Amplifier

Many industry experts and many audiophiles, too, view the Integrated amplifier as an incomplete product They believe integrated amplifiers contain too many compromises to be taken seriously.
Those who know Krell know that Krell builds unique products. The Krell logo on an audio component is one of the surest signs of uncompromising design, innovative engineering, and meticulous craftsmanship. As a result, the Krell name has become synonymous with the highest levels of music reproduction. That is why the Krell KAV-300i Integrated Amplifier has won the distinguished Class A rating from Stereophile magazine and numerous other industry awards for excellence. That is why audiophiles have made the KAV-300i Integrated Amplifier the best-selling product in Krell history.

Krell Power

The KAV-300i is a Krell in every respect. Its ample power supply and its power amplifiers feature a dual-mono configuration for maximum channel isolation. Its proprietary Krell output transistors (the identical devices used in the largest Krell power amplifiers), enable the KAV-300i to deliver a level and a quality of output power usually reserved for the largest and most expensive separate power amplifiers. Rated at 150 Watts per channel into 8 Ohm loads, and a whopping 300 Watts per channel into 4 Ohms, the KAV-300i has the dynamic headroom and power reserves to produce astonishingly realistic, live performance sound levels. This performance alone is unique in an integrated amplifier and marks the KAV-300i as something special in audiophile-grade components.

Krell Control

While outwardly simple, the KAV-300i is a versatile component ideal for a wide variety of audio system applications. Its full complement of balanced and single-ended inputs, including a tape monitor loop, provides for a variety of high-quality music sources, such as balanced CD playback from Krell compact disc players. Krell's unique Theatre Throughput™ function also makes it easy to integrate the KAV-300i into home theatre systems or whole-house music systems.
The KAV-300i employs exclusive Krell circuitry to maintain the highest quality of signal transfer from input to output. All-discrete, pure Class A, fully complementary circuitry holds noise and distortion to a minimum while offering exceptional sonic clarity and detail. The preamplifier control stage is efficiently isolated from the power amplifier circuits by a separate high-performance regulator and audiophile-grade filter capacitors.
The KAV-300i’s source switching is accomplished by sealed, multi-contact relays, which enable the switching action to be located at the most appropriate points in the circuitry to minimize noise. This relay switching has inherently low capacitance and inductance, and combines with the Class A, balanced circuitry in the amplifier to deliver an extremely wide bandwidth for outstanding sonic clarity and definition.
The KAV-300i employs an extremely stable, quiet and precise system for volume control and channel balance. This system features a fully-balanced configuration of fixed resistor attenuators under digital control. The result is a low-impedance, low-noise volume control which offers exceptionally fine control steps and precision repeatability, with full bandwidth and essentially zero distortion. br> The KAV-300i features full-function remote control for unmatched ease of use. The supplied handheld remote also controls the KAV-Series compact disc players and other KAV-Series components, in addition to controlling the KAV-300i. The 152-step volume control setting and other status information are indicated by a distinctive display that is easy to read.

The Krell Tradition

The KAV-300i offers a high level of sound quality, with a smoothness and surety of operation matched by few other components at any price. Its elegant. muted colours, its tactile controls, and its engraved panel legends instantly identify it as a Krell. The KAV-300i is a unique and musically satisfying member of the one family of audio components most desired by audiophiles who hold quality and performance as their highest goals - Krell.
