Description
Description
Here we have a well-regarded Series 500 valve amplifier from former British company Audio Innovations. It was designed by Erik Andersson, was introduced in 1987 and features five line inputs and a phono input. Our example comes in good fully working condition with some age related blemishes – please refer to photographs. It will be supplied in original factory packaging along with manual, and our regular three month warranty.
Audio Innovations Said….
The Series 300 integrated amplifier has set the reference standard for what is possible, ultimately, in terms of sonic quality/cost but with the sacrifice of power output. In the Series 500 this consideration is eliminated. It represents ultimate value for anybody who wishes to own lasting quality in terms of sound quality, which should be the determining factor anyway.
True innovation in concept and design is very rare in an audio product today, and is this respect the Series 500 stands out. In the planning stages it became apparent that we could produce an amplifier of truly outstanding sonic performance and looks to match, and this at a price that makes it obtainable for a larger number of audiophiles and music lovers. The achievement is now here for all to see and listen to!
Apart from the thermionic valves superior linearity, stability and load tolerance, it has another feature: it is very attractive to the eye. We decided to make the best possible use of this, by situating the valves clearly visible forming a semi-circle, making what we consider to be the most stunning looking amplifier on the market – regardless of price.
