The Stax SRS-2050 is a complete electrostatic earspeaker system comprising the SR-202 push-pull electrostatic headphone and the SRM-252II solid-state energiser/amplifier. Our example is in good condition and is supplied in the original box with instruction manual and mains cable. The SR-202 delivers an extraordinary frequency range of 7Hz to 41kHz, with vanishingly low distortion and a transparency unmatched by dynamic or planar headphones. HomeTheaterReview described the system as 'so perfectly conceived' and praised its honesty and competence, noting 'there simply is no substitute for the open-back sound of electrostatics, the speed, the transparency, the detail.' Headfonia stated the SR-202 'has a transient speed that no dynamics can ever touch.'

STAX chose the electrostatic driver for its ability to produce transparent sound and low weight due to the lack of magnets and coils. The minimal weight of the driver ensures a very quick response to the signal, creating a more faithful sound reproduction. All STAX electrostatics require special amplifiers or driver units to supply the STAX bias voltage and high voltage audio signal.' Carriers
We despatch the bulk of our UK mainland items on a 24 hour service. Non-Mainland locations – Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles, the Scottish highlands and Islands, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland may take a day or so longer. Smaller items are delivered using Royal Mail 24 or special delivery. Larger items are delivered using a courier service such as UPS and occasionally by a Pallet service.
