Castle Severn 2SE Floorstanding Speakers - Light Oak

Presented here in its third generation, the Castle Severn is an established favourite, both with customers and critics, having won the most prestigious UK award in 1997 as “What Hi-Fi? Loudspeaker of the Year”.
Now fully revised for the new millennium The Severn 2SE shares only the same cabinet dimensions as its predecessor. Both drive units and crossover have been uprated, as has the internal wiring. The new 150 mm carbon fibre bass unit has a modified cone profile, delivering a smoother response. Its magnet system features a shaped pole piece for improved dynamics and reduced distortion, while its voice coil, wound on Kapton, users copper coated aluminium wire for reduced mass and tighter dynamic control.
Castle’s new 19 mm soft dome tweeter is matched to the new bass unit via a high-quality crossover equipped with capacitors from one of the UK’s leading audiophile component manufacturers. These have been selected only after extensive listening tests demonstrated that they offer significant improvements in resolution and detail. Our own CasWire internal connections ensure minimal degradation of the original signal and maximum enjoyment of the music.

Carriers

We despatch the bulk of our UK mainland items on a 24 hour service.  Non-Mainland locations – Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles, the Scottish highlands and Islands, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland may take a day or so longer. Smaller items are delivered using Royal Mail 24 or special delivery. Larger items are delivered using a courier service such as UPS and occasionally by a Pallet service.
