Naim Intro Head Unit with Driver - Maple

The Intro features Naim’s unique separate bass technology with the bass/mid driver and tweeter mounted in their own separate cabinets, as developed for the class leading SBL and DBL loudspeakers.
Dividing the system in this way allows the drive units and the cabinets to operate in their own mechanically non-interactive environments, making their acoustic performances predictable.
The critical interface between the loudspeaker and the floor is controlled by means of a leaf-spring and spiked feet arrangement fitted to the cabinet base.
The installation and assembly of the Intro is simplicity itself, with the bass/mid cabinet sitting neatly on precision interface pins (PIPs) mounted on the top face of the bottom cabinet, which also houses the tweeter and the passive crossover.
The PIPs help define the air gap between the two cabinets, providing a controlled distributed reflex port which is free of the usual turbulence problems and allows the loudspeakers to be positioned either against a wall or out in the room, depending on the listeners preferences.
Scanspeak’s proven wide dispersion 19mm dome tweeter is utilised with a superb Naim designed and manufactured 200 mm bass/mid unit, similar to the one used in the SBL loudspeaker.
Featuring a computer modelled cast aluminium, the Intro bass unit is fitted with a thermo-plastic phase correction device.
Designed to partner all of Naim’s amplifiers, from the Nait 3 upwards, the Intro is easy to drive and will continue to offer improved sound quality as the rest of the system is upgraded.
The Intro can be passively bi-amped if preferred using a unique system which avoids the compromises of the more commonly found linked passive networks.

Carriers

We despatch the bulk of our UK mainland items on a 24 hour service.  Non-Mainland locations – Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles, the Scottish highlands and Islands, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland may take a day or so longer. Smaller items are delivered using Royal Mail 24 or special delivery. Larger items are delivered using a courier service such as UPS and occasionally by a Pallet service.
