Cyrus is one of Britain’s best known Hi-Fi manufacturers, and here we have, in the company’s traditional “shoebox” casing, an example of one of its highly regarded power amplifiers the Mono X. This unit is being sold as a single item and is therefore an ideal choice as a centre channel amplifier. It comes in fully working condition noting a few cosmetic marks and blemishes – please refer to photographs. With state of the art components this mono power amplifier delivers 150 Watts continually and is capable of providing 1,500 Watts of burst power. Features digital protection system.
Power amplifiers at this level of performance are more usually behemoths of iron and unnecessarily flashy styling. The Mono X is a dynamic mono amp conservatively rated at 150 Watts. However the dynamic power of the amp is capable of burst output (such as occurs in all music programmes) of over 1500 watts.
This dynamic amplifier requires a very special design to successfully provide the immense power required for a system sound as close to the original performance as possible. The power and subtlety of the Mono X combine to make it one of the world’s most able hi-fi amplifiers.
