The NAC 552 was their top of the range unit when launched in 2002 and continued as such until the Naim Statement came along in 2014. It is still in production today and is much sought after. Our unit dates from 2004 and comes in very good condition along with its similarly styled power supply unit the NAC 552 PS, which has a DR badge on the rear panel to show that at some point this unit was returned to Naim to have the associated Discrete Regulator upgrade. Both units are supplied in original factory packaging along with two remote control units, reprinted manual, mains cable, burndy cables, SNAIC cables and our standard three month warranty.\u003cbr\u003e\nNaim Say….\u003cbr\u003e\nThe role of the preamplifier is both complex and vital. Its input circuitry must handle the full output of the source without overload. It must switch and control the signal without adding noise, distortion or response errors, and it must deliver audio properly normalised and conditioned. A preamplifier can never improve the quality of the signal, but the better it is, the more information and music is retained.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe NAC 552 is by some distance the best Naim preamplifier ever and has some claim therefore to be the best preamplifier anywhere, period. It is as much an advance on its predecessors as the NAP 500 power amplifier, demonstrating very clearly that we have by no means reached the limits of music reproduction. There is always more to be had, but for now, the performance of the NAC 552 significantly raises the bar.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe NAC 552 features all-new preamplifier circuit topology and a dedicated spilt rail, multiple winding and multiple regulated outboard power supply. It’s an immensely versatile audio control centre with independent source and record circuits, nine input sockets freely assignable to source selection buttons, automatic source selection, and unity gain facilities for integration with audio-visual processors.
