Here we have a five star rated phono stage from British company Vertere. Styled to complement the companies turntables our Phono-1 Mk2 comes in very good condition with one very small blemish on the top toward the rear of the unit – please see photographs. It is supplied in original factory packaging along with manual, mains cable, adjustment tool and our standard three month warranty.

A wisely chosen record player, should make you want to put on an LP, sit back and enjoy the record in its entirety – unless, of course, it is being let down by the phono stage.
Starting, at best, with only a few millivolts of cartridge output and steep RIAA equalisation are challenging ingredients to make a well-designed phono stage. In order to represent faithfully the original recording, the phono stage has to amplify a tiny signal a thousand-fold and equalise it back to the exact reverse of the RIAA curve!

An extensive range of 15 resistance plus 9 capacitance choices is provided to optimise the input impedance fully and achieve the best performance from your cartridge.
Indeed, 7 of these capacitance settings are especially for Moving Coils where many exhibit a rising frequency response above 10 kHz.
The best components on high quality gold plated PCBs ensure maximum performance from the Phono-1 circuit. The internal amplification circuit is also double shielded with a 3-way phono PCB Ground Management switch to provide minimal ‘earth hum’ in virtually any installation.
