Thorens turntables employ a particularly heavy chassis fabricated of special wood material.
Its high acoustical damping suppresses resonance disturbances that would otherwise impair reproduction. The extremely quiet synchronous motor is powered from an electronic generator to prevent mains disturbances from affecting operation.
