The Oak Turntable

Here we have a vintage turntable known as “The Oak Turntable”. It was designed by Steve Williams (who also worked at Guildford Hi-Fi) and John Young from Oak Audio Ltd, and was eventually distributed through Mike Harris of Moth Marketing, after it made its debut at ‘Audio 83’ at one of the hotels at Heathrow airport.
The Oak Turntable offers a unique blend of vintage aesthetics and high-fidelity sound. The plinth was made from chip-board covered in light oak veneer, the main bearing assembly was an inverted brass housing machined in one piece which was a push fit onto a Medite platter.
Our example is in working condition although it has to be said that it is rather tired looking and would certainly benefit from a little TLC to cosmetics and working parts. Priced to sell!
