Roksan Radius 5 Turntable – Acrylic

Here we have a nice example of the Roksan Radius 5 turntable complete with Nima Tonearm. This was Roksan’s “budget model” when it was introduced but garnered a whole raft of complimentary reviews. It comes in good fully working condition and is supplied in original factory packaging along with our regular three month warranty. Please note that the fitted Audio Technica cartridge is not covered in the warranty as we have no idea on its age or the amount of wear.

Available in transparent acrylic, lacquered walnut veneer and lacquered maple veneer the Radius 5 borrows elements and technology from Roksan’s world class record players to combine innovation and practicality in this stunning piece of design.
Radius 5’s drive mechanism utilises a custom made synchronous motor fitted with a precision machined solid aluminium alloy pulley. The main bearing housing and spindle are designed and high precision machined from solid brass and stainless steel alloy to ensure smooth running and longevity.
The single piece solid acrylic platter is precision machined to ensure speed stability and then frost finished for smart aesthetic appearance. The Main Bearing, Platter and Nima arm are mounted on the sub-plinth and three point de-coupled from the main plinth. The motor assembly, also mounted to the main plinth, is further de-coupled to avoid motor noise and vibration break through. The sub-plinth thus isolates the cartridge/record interface and preserves detail, timing and dynamics.
Three chromed adjustable spiked feet assist levelling and optimum coupling to the surface upon which the Radius 5 rests. Matched to the NIMA arm, Radius 5 provides unparalleled performance demonstrating a perfect balance between design, technology and value. Its superior resolution and composure extracts plenty of detail in a well organised, crisp and informative manner.

The NIMA is Roksan’s renowned unipivot entry level tonearm and it uses very high quality van den Hul cable for optimum detail retrieval and performance.
The unique design of the transit locking mechanism of the bearing assembly not only provides a safe transportation method, but also avoids damage if the tonearm is accidentally lifted off its bearing. The counterweight is decoupled and designed to mount off-centre, allowing easy Azimuth correction. The inclusion of VTA adjustment provides optimum alignment for almost any cartridge.
The combination of polished acrylic headshell, silver anodised aluminium tubing and mirror chromed counterweight enhances NIMA’s looks and conveys the true lightness and neutrality of this very special arm.
