Description

Here we have a classic Pink Triangle Export turntable, that comes without tonearm. This lower-cost version of the PT-TOO, with the power supply moved into the plinth, was released sometime in the early 90’s. Our example is in good working condition and will be supplied in original packaging along with a Rega armboard (but not the one featured in the first four photographs which is just being used as a balance) and our usual three month warranty. The lid is complete and has no cracks BUT, if you want us to guarantee it stays that way you will need to collect as PT lids are renowned for failing in transit. No returns for a lid damaged in transit sorry – but if you really must have it shipped, we will of course do our best to get it to you in one piece…

Pink Triangle Said ….
With time having brought about both quantitative and qualitative improvements, the Pink Triangle Exports’ roots trace back through the PT TOO to the uniquely pioneering Pink Triangle turntable first launched in 1979.
The Pink Triangle Export design relies on low-mass, highly dissipative (lossy) non-resonant materials: This method of construction guarantees reduced levels of mechanical noise impinging on the musical signal during play-back.
Utilising aerospace specification aluminium honeycomb, the heart of the Pink Triangle Exports’ design is its sub-chassis onto which the main bearing, platter, arm-board and arm are mounted.
The main bearing, which supports the platter, is non-inverted (upright). Its working surfaces are made from sapphire and tungsten with tolerances held to better than 1 micron thereby giving very low noise figures (rumble).
The exquisitely engineered bearing, in turn, supports the Solid Acrylic platter onto which the record is directly sited providing excellent acoustic impedance and attenuation of vibration: Pink Triangle was the first company to use, and patent, this material for record replay – Over the years many turntable designers were to subsequently copy the use of the same and similar materials for their platters… imitation, they say, being the sincerest form of flattery.
The whole suspended, “floating” internal structure, comprising the aforementioned parts, is hung from three narrow diameter coil extension springs to give excellent immunity from external and internal vibration.
The main plinth surround is sculpted and manufactured from solid wood stock to the highest carpentry standards and is available in Natural Ash or Black Ash finishes.

Hi-Fi Choice Conclusion….
The Export has the classic Pink Triangle virtues of exceptional clarity, neutrality and detail, and is altogether a most attractive package; something of a bargain.
