A superb example of the “Olive” finish NAC 82 Preamplifier from British specialist Naim Audio. Originally launched back in 1992 but even today this is still a very highly regarded preamplifier, with some commenters on the internet saying that they think it sounds better than the NAC 282 which replaced it. It is fitted with POTS 7 control, K series (moving coil) input boards and is in very good condition, with a slight mark on the volume knob. It comes professionally packaged, with remote control, NAPSC Power Supply, SNAIC cable and our standard three month warranty.
Naim Say….
First Class sound quality, user configurable input facilities, full infra-red remote control and a host of other features are brought together in this highly versatile preamplifier.
Capable of being powered by the supplies built into the NAP 90, 140 & 180 power amplifiers, the 82 can be improved by adding up to two separate HI-CAP power supplies for optimum sound quality.
Six line-level inputs are provided, all with independent listen and record selectors, one of which can be converted for use with phono by fitting optional plug-in boards. Just like the 52, all switching is carried out by a series of relays controlled by opto-couplers, with the digital clock required for the decoding process switching on only for the duration of an actual command.
Digital noise is further reduced by housing the regulated power supply for the control circuits in a separate box, the NA PSC, which is provided with the preamp and can be sited well away from the sensitive audio electronics.
Engineering is to our usual high standard, with the NAC 82 constructed in a full-width extruded aluminium case.
