Naim Credo Floorstanding Speakers – Cherry

A nice pair of the two box Credo loudspeakers in cherry veneer from British brand Naim Audio. In good condition, with just a few blemishes – please see photographs and fully working. They come in original packaging with spikes, grilles, pegs, manual and our standard three month warranty.

The Credo loudspeakers feature Naim’s unique separate box technology with the bass/mid driver and tweeter mounted in their own separate cabinets, as developed for the class leading SBL and DBL loudspeakers. Dividing the system in this way allows the drive units and the cabinets to operate in their own mechanically non¬interactive environments, making their acoustic performances predictable.
The critical interface between the loudspeaker and the floor is controlled by means of a leaf-spring and spiked feet arrangement fitted to the cabinet base. The installation and assembly of the Credo is simplicity itself, with the bass/mid cabinet sitting neatly on precision interface pins (PIPs) mounted on the top face of the bottom cabinet, which also houses the tweeter and the passive crossover. The PIPS help define the air gap between the two cabinets, providing a controlled distributed reflex port which is free of the usual turbulence problems and allows the loudspeakers to be posi¬tioned either against a wall or out in the room, depending on the listener’s preferences.
Scanspeak’s proven wide dispersion 19 mm dome tweeter is utilised in the Credo which also features the superb Naim designed and manufactured 200mm bass/mid units similar to those used in the SBL and NBL Loudspeakers. The Credo benefits from our split-mass aluminium phase corrector which also improves heat dissipation and increases power handling.
The Credo is best used with high quality sources and a separate preamplifier and power amplifier combination, the CD2 player, the NAC 72 preamplifier and the NAP 140 power amplifier being our minimum recommendation. The speakers can benefit from more sophisticated amplifier systems – fully active drive in the case of the Credo .
