At Mission, form must follow function. The sleek exterior lines only hint at the advanced technologies beneath the perfectly polished real wood veneers and precision die cast aluminium trimmings. The beauty here is far deeper than the skin.
Sweeping curves across every cabinet surface are there for a reason. As well as hindering the production of internal standing waves, each cabinet is constructed from a precise formula of interleaving wood layers, glued and pressed at high temperature for 48 hours and then left to cool naturally so that internal stresses are eliminated. The result is a cabinet of acoustically inert properties – a perfect chassis for the working parts of the loudspeaker.
Mission loudspeakers have always been known for their elegance and stunning performance, both in critical listening tests and for the Mission iconic style. SX loudspeakers feature a sleek and fashionable look coupling keyed tonal graduations with a choice of Black and Rosewood real wood veneered finishes, enabling them to harmonize beautifully with their environment. They will reward with many years of both visual and sonic pleasure.
Some of the innovative improvements for SX Series include the composite alloy based diaphragms of the midrange and bass units which provide detailed sonic performance and extremely low distortion from the driver due to the stiffness of the material. The Mission TD treble unit dome is made of light but very rigid Titanium which reproduces high frequencies with astonishing clarity and purity. With years of expertise built-in, the SX Series are able to once again showcase the iconic Mission sound – truly a great example of modern design married with a powerful sonic performance.
Integrated into the front of each cabinet is a die cast and precision engineered aluminium driver support baffle. This supports the high-tech drive units and keeps them in precise alignment as well as ensuring freedom from extraneous vibration. In addition the new Mission TD treble unit is mounted on its own visco-elastic support to keep it free from the perturbations of mechanical energy imparted from the bass units. As with the cabinet the form of this baffle is eye-catching, the function ear-satisfying.
The crossover utilizes Mission’s new ‘perfect phase’ technology. E well in a variety of placements, even when placed close to a rear w typical rooms. Every speaker in the Mission SX Series is designed minimum outlay in a practical design that’s purpose-built for modern living.
The Mission SX Series promises the listener a new level of musicality and is engineered to deliver a balanced sound both on and off axis, aided by an integrated treble waveguide that optimizes dispersion, thus ensuring a full sonic experience wherever the listener is seated.
