Many of Marantz’ best amplifiers and CD players use Marantz designed hyper dynamic amp modules (HDAM) in place of the more common single integrated circuit operational amplifiers. Its discrete double-sided PCB has independent transistors and other components mounted on one side while the other side is used to shield the circuit from unwanted noise. HDAM’s achieve far lower distortion and wider dynamics than conventional “Op amps”.
