At the end of the ’70s came a new entry-level speaker from the specialist Scottish Hi-Fi manufacturer Linn. They were known as the Kan, a non-isobaric, two-way bookshelf speaker which used the same drivers as the classic Linn Isobarik and were famously designed to work best near a wall. Our examples of the seminal Linn Kan are quite tidy for their age, with a few minor blemishes – please see photographs. Ideal for small listening rooms or near field listening. They will come in original factory packaging, with our standard 3 month warranty.
Linn Say….
The Linn Kan loudspeaker is a compact two-way infinite baffle loudspeaker. The cabinet is manufactured from high density board and finished with quality veneers. It employs a 110mm bass/mid driver and the tweeter is a 19mm soft dome unit manufactured specially for Linn Products. The speaker is essentially a two-way system with crossover point at 3,000 Hz. The crossover is relatively simple and employs seven elements on a specially designed circuit board.
The Linn Kan presents a fairly easy load, but care should be taken in choosing an amplifier, as it is a very revealing loudspeaker and should be used with good ancillary equipment. The Kan is suitable for use with amplifiers rated between 20 and 70 Watts.
The Linn Kan was designed to be used close to or against a wall. It should not be placed too near a corner, as this will over-emphasize the bass. The tweeter should be close to ear level when the listener is seated in the room and the speakers may be angled inwards through an angle of less than 20 degrees.
