Here we have a classic mid- to late-eighties turntable from German experts Dual. It comes in fair working condition, but pretty poor cosmetically, noting various marks to the unit particularly on the platter – please see photographs. It will be professionally packaged for safe transit.

Judged on appearances alone, the CS 5000 will leave you with expectations of the highest possible musical enjoyment. The design of the solid wooden console and the high-tech design of the cartridge system underline the superior specifications of this turntable. The Dual CS 5000 offers a wide range of first-rate features. Experts regard this turntable as the ultimate in its class thanks to advanced electronics and innovative precision engineering.
The tonearm is suspended in a gyroscopic gimbal bearing – a technique that permits almost frictionless balance and freedom of movement in all directions.
The required tracking force is produced by means of a precision torsion spring. This force is always the same in magnitude and direction regardless of the position of the turntable.
The optimum pivot system (OPS) virtually eliminates wow and flutter caused by warped records.
The headshell is detachable. The ½“ cartridge mounting is prepared for the installation of the most popular leading cartridges.
The VTA (Vertical Tracking Angle) technique is designed to optimize the reproduction quality or the chosen phono cartridge system.
The anti-skating force can be adjusted manually.
The full-size floating chassis offers effective damping by means of four adjustable shock-absorbing feet which can be adjusted to all kinds of disturbances.
The heavy vibration-damped platter made of die cast aluminium (1.5 kg) ensures distortion free musical reproduction.
The platter’s anti-resonance mat also ensures an extra­ ordinarily clear sound with full, dry bass reproduction.
The motor speed is electronically synchronized with quartz precision by a micro­ processor. Even
the slightest deviation from the correct playing speed of the turn­ table 1s detected by sensitive
sensors and corrected.
The turntable’s playing speed can be set electronically: 33/45/78 rpm – and you can even play your precious shellack records.
The viscosity-damped cueing device protects your records. At the end of the record the tonearm is lifted up automatically.
The stylus diamond is protected by this contact free switch off facility – an optical sensor monitors the tonearm without touching it and so prevents any undue stress to the tip of the stylus.
