The Rubicon 2 loudspeaker is the perfect blend between compact size and large sound performance. The solid MDF cabinet is the perfect working environment for its ultra-light 29 mm soft dome tweeter, 6.5-inch wood fibre low-loss driver, and gold-plated terminals.
Soft Magnetic Compound
The Rubicon 2 draws upon the heritage from the SMC-based ‘Linear Drive System’, which was introduced with the Epicon series. With SMC in the Rubicon 2, we achieve extremely low distortion and maximize the level of detail, even at low volume. The SMC technology helps to remove a very large part of the distortion normally found in the magnetic system. The drivers are manufactured in-house at our Danish factory and feature the latest in magnet motor technology. The Rubicon 2 is ready to set new standards for audio quality for Hi-Fi lovers around the world.
29 MM Soft Dome – Ultra-lightweight soft dome tweeter
The ultra-lightweight soft dome tweeter used in the Rubicon 2 is designed to reach higher into the very high frequencies. Higher than the soft dome used in a Dali hybrid tweeter, as the soft dome tweeter in the Rubicon 2 is required to work on its own and not with a ribbon tweeter. The voice coil used in the Rubicon 2 soft dome is designed to be very light and agile and is kept under strict control by the surrounding powerful ferrite magnet, helping to achieve a broader bandwidth.
6.5″ Woofer – Draws upon the heritage from the Epicon technologies
The cone used in the Rubicon 2 draws upon the heritage from the Epicon technologies. It has a light, rigid and randomly uneven structure, which lowers the complexity of the central part of the motor, ensures even piston-like movements, reduces the possibility of surface resonance greatly and facilitates extremely low distortion. The soft low-loss rubber surround is designed specifically for the Rubicon 2, with all components situated in a cast-aluminium chassis designed for maximum airflow around the cone and magnet system.

Small but perfectly formed, the Rubicon 2 stand speaker may be the baby of the bunch, but delivering richly defined detail and big bass response, its sound belies its size.
