Bowers & Wilkins Say….
Signature. It embodies everything we know and everything we stand for. The new 700 Series Signature combines state-of-the-art engineering with the highest possible standards of design, finish and quality. Every speaker is crafted with care, honed by experience and perfected with passion.
We like to celebrate in style. On our 25th anniversary in 1991, we introduced a new loudspeaker designed to celebrate our accomplishments and embody everything we had learned to date: the legendary Silver Signature. With its all-silver internal wiring, upgraded crossovers and exquisite finishing, it swiftly became a sought¬ after icon.
Signature 30 followed five years later, a three-way speaker that took the performance potential of silver to its limit. And when it came to our 40th anniversary celebration, that same philosophy of improvement and refinement was applied, and the extraordinary Signature Diamond was the result.
702 and 705 Signature are the latest models to proudly bear the Signature name. Featuring nine coats of paint and lacquer, their unique Datuk Gloss finish is beautiful to behold, while their improved crossover components endow them with even higher performance than standard 700 Series loudspeakers. It’s the classic Signature approach. Time for everyone to celebrate.
With its Tweeter-on-Top technology derived from the design used in our flagship 800 Series Diamond range, the 705 Signature is a high-performance two¬ way speaker able to reveal the subtle nuances in your music that others miss. It combines uncanny realism, presence and transparency – and its Datuk Gloss finish makes it as beautiful to look at as it is to listen to.
The 700 Series shares some of the most advanced technologies from our flagship 800 Series Diamond range. It also includes entirely new technologies, designed specifically for this range.
In 700 Series Signature, these exceptional raw ingredients are then honed to perfection with a choice selection of expertly judged crossover upgrades aimed at further improving resolution and transparency.
Both 705 Signature and 702 Signature use Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top, a high-performance technology previously found only on the 800 Series Diamond. Its acoustically optimised form is milled from a solid block of aluminium, forming a structure that’s exceptionally inert and resistant to resonances.
Purpose-built for the 700 Series, the Carbon Dome tweeter delivers a dramatic improvement on the Decoupled Double-Dome tweeter used in 600 Series. They raise the first breakup threshold to 47kHz, ensuring pinpoint imaging accuracy and detail.
First introduced with the 800 Series Diamond, the Continuum cone represents the biggest step-change in midrange performance since Aramid Fibre. Its woven coated material provides highly controlled break-up, resulting in a more open, neutral midrange.
The new Aerofoil Profile bass cone has the same variable thickness design as the bass cones in 800 Series Diamond speakers. Developed using advanced computer modelling techniques, it provides stiffness and rigidity where it’s needed most, for deep and dynamic bass.
