Here we have a pair of SCM50A active monitor style loudspeakers from British company ATC. They are in fully working condition noting a few marks as shown in the photographs. They will be supplied with their purpose built stands, in their original factory packaging – on a pallet – and of course come with our regular three month warranty.

As multi-channel systems increase in popularity it is easy to forget that the basic stereo pair of speakers at the front of the listening area remains an essential element. Existing libraries of recorded music, the commitment of recording companies to stereo in its current form and the new high resolution digital two-channel formats indicate that stereo will continue to be the main source of recorded music for the foreseeable future. For these reasons ATC still regards the main stereo speaker pair as the foundation on which a high performance multi-channel system can be built. What better way to establish that foundation than by choosing the world-renowned and hugely capable SCM50A three way active monitor.
The SCM50 is designed to perform at its best in the recording studio or at home with the finest quality hi-fi equipment. The monitors’ ability to reproduce music and speech with phenomenal accuracy, transparency and dynamics lies mainly in the SM75-150S soft dome midrange driver. However, recent modifications that include an upgraded tweeter and enhanced port profile have brought about further improvements in all performance parameters. Each drive unit in the active model has its own dedicated and individually matched MOS-FET amplifier, while the 9” bass driver incorporates ATC’s unique Super Linear Magnet technology. Our active crossover consists of a wide bandwidth, electronically balanced input stage with high common mode rejection and very low distortion. Like the mid and bass drivers, all electronics are designed and manufactured in-house to create a no-compromise active system.
