Rega FONO MM Phonostage

A nice example of this award winning phono stage from acclaimed British manufacturer Rega. In very good condition, with one tiny mark on the back left corner – please see photographs – it comes complete in original packaging, with power supply unit, manual and of course our usual three month warranty.

The Fono MM has been designed to be effective, easy to use, and above all, to reproduce music. The Fono MM uses a fully discrete, cascaded, complementary amplifier input stage. This configuration has been proven to work well with moving magnet cartridges. The RIAA equalization has been split into two stages to minimise interaction. Polyester capacitors have been used in the signal path and polypropylene capacitors are used in the RIAA equalization circuits.
The aesthetic design of the Fono MM was as important as the quality of its electrical capabilities, so it benefits from the same aluminium case as the Rega TTPSU and Fono MC amplifier, giving it a design which offers a familiar feel and moreover brings it in line with its illustrious bigger brothers. The Fono disk stage is designed to amplify the signal from a moving magnet cartridge to a level which can feed into a 200mV line level input on a standard hi-fi amplifier.
