STD 305 S Turntable (No Arm) – Black

Here we have a vintage turntable from little known Scottish company Strathclyde Transcription Developments (STD) Ltd. The original form of the 305 was designed to compete with the original Linn Sondek but for various reasons didn’t really meet its challenge. Our version of the deck is the later 305S which was a stripped back version that kept the top deck’s mechanicals and put them into a plain looking and rather more basic plinth. This version was given a recommended award by Hi-Fi Choice at the time, and at its price point of around £150 meant it was competing more with the Rega Planar 3. It is in good working condition and is supplied without a tonearm. It will be professionally packaged and still has our regular three month warranty.
