Sharp Optonica RP-7100H Turntable

The Sharp Optonica RP7100H is a quartz-locked, direct drive turntable featuring Sharp’s Automatic Program Locate Device. Using a second arm alongside the main tone arm tube, the APLD system is able to locate gaps between tracks allowing instant track access and programming. Our example is in fully working condition, will be suitably packaged and comes with our usual three month warranty. Please note there is no cartridge fitted to this turntable.

Beautiful, compact design with front control system. Model RP7100H is a compact and yet fully fledged turntable having all the necessary controls gathered at its front. The result is a very sophisticated design, both internally and externally. The smoked glass made protective cover adds something to that beauty.
Using Automatic Program Locate Device (APLD) newly developed for the turntable , the RP7100H searches for the desired space between programs recorded on a disc and automatically starts playing at the beginning of the program following the space. The device also allows you to skip over the desired number (1 to 7) of programs stopping to play a program you have already listened to.
The platter drive motor is of a mono-torque system, newly developed by Optonica, whereby the rotational torque of motor is kept always constant. In addition to this, 160-pole frequency generator, PLL circuit including quartz-crystal oscillator and sample hold phase detector serve to govern the motor as of wow and flutter, rotational deviation, due to temperature drift, due to aging drift and overload resistance, etc.
This tonearm drive motor prevents a lateral pressure from affecting the stylus when tracking. A disc play becomes able to be very easily controlled by lightly pushing the button, for either playing start, cueing, repeat playing or stop operation.
