Here we have a distinctively styled integrated amplifier from former British company Musical Fidelity. Part of the highly rated X-range of components the X-A1 is an extremely flexible component. Our example is in very good condition and supplied in original factory packaging along with manual, power supply unit, mains cable plus our usual three month warranty.

The X-A1 is the result of a continuous research and development program into the factors that affect Hi-Fi sound quality and has been designed for ultra-high definition performance. Aesthetically and electronically the X-A1 matches perfectly with the X-RAY CD player and the other X-Ponent units. Together, they can form one of the finest hi-fi systems that you can own.
Features:
Class A/B output stage – Combines the benefits of Class A (smooth sound at average listening levels) with the advantages of Class B (efficient use of power supply)
Active preamp output included – Allows flexible use of the X-A1 in multi-room or surround sound situations or passive bi-amping with a pair of X-A50s or X-A200s
Structured internally as separate pre- and power amps but packaged in an integrated chassis – Allows optimum design free from intermodulation and other distortions that can occur when these circuits are combined but with the advantage of perfect interconnection between them.
Fully discrete preamp and power amp circuits – No I.C.s are used, all circuitry is designed for its purpose. Constructing the circuits from the ground up allowed Musical Fidelity engineers complete freedom to optimise the X-A1 design for the best sound quality possible.
High current output stage – Easily drives ‘difficult’ speaker loads and gives excellent bass control and weight.
Tape monitor circuit – Allows off-tape monitoring with three head tape decks/ plus insertion of sound processors.
The X-A1 has been designed to be switched on continuously. The PSU should be positioned as far away from the X-A1 as possible.
